And another year comes to an end! This one marked Lovely Dakota‘s 15th anniversary and some major changes, as I’m sure you noticed if you’ve been visiting us for long. It’s review time!

The year of 2017 started for Lovely Dakota when I adopted it in March (x), after nearly two years without updates. The first thing I did was change the layouts and get the gallery up and running again, with the help of Isabella, from (the now gone) Dakota Fanning Brasil. Since then, 48 posts with news and various additions were made to the site.

Dakota’s first campaign for the brand Jimmy Choo – for their SS17 collection – was launched earlier in the year, and it resulted in one of her most beautiful photoshoots to date. In other fashion-related news, she posed for Miu Miu toward the end of the year, and is featured on their Holidays 2017 campaign called “Whispers” (x) along with her sister Elle Fanning.

Dakota’s latest short film “Zygote” was released in July (x), and “Brimstone” got some spread out release dates around the world through pretty much the first semester of the year. “Please Stand By” premiered at the Rome Film Festival (x), but doesn’t have confirmed release dates for other places at this point.

Dakota spent several months filming The Alienist in Budapest, Hungary, and we’ve gotten a few trailers (x) for it since then. This is the first television show she’s featured in since her cameo in “Friends” in 2004. It will be premiering on TNT on January 29, 2018, and is most definitely the project I’ve been anticipating the most. Dakota stars with actors Luke Evans and Daniel Bruhl.

With new projects soon-to-be released, Dakota has slowly started promoting. Several interviews and a few magazine covers have marked the beginning of it for “The Alienist”, and she’ll probably start doing press for “Please Stand By” too very soon. Besides those two projects, “Ocean’s 8” is also set to premiere in 2018 (x), and Dakota’s cameo has already been confirmed.

I hope we get to see more of Dakota next year, and I’m sure we will! We can also hope “Viena and the Fantomes” (x) gets released eventually, as we’ve been waiting for it for so long. The struggle is real, guys.
