November 4, 2005:
Second to The Hollywood Reporter Dakota is going to be in a new movie, called 'Hound Dog' which is a coming of age movie that takes place down South. This isn't confirmed yet, so not sure if it's true, and if it is, I don't know when this movie will be filmed.Thanks Dakota&ElleFan for this wonderful news!

October 22, 2005:
Dakota Fanning will provide the voice of "Coraline" in the upcoming animated feature based on Neil Gaiman's bestselling novel. The movie is being written and directed by Henry Selick of "Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas" and "James and the Giant Peach," The Hollywood Reporter said Friday. Gaiman's story is about a young girl who walks through a secret door and into an alternate version of her life. The parallel reality appears to be much better than her real life, but plot takes a turn when her "new" parents decide they want to keep her in their world, The Reporter said.

June 4, 2005:
Some great news for Dakota fans from every corner of the globe - our favorite little lady has won a statuette that shows her for the true little star we know she is! In the tough category of "Best Frightened Performance", Dakota beat out Sarah Michelle Gellar, Mya, Cary Elwes and Jennifer Tilly to take home the coveted golden popcorn. Congratulations Dakota! This award is so special because it's voted by the fans at home, who can finally show you what an amazing performance you gave. Don't forget to tune in to the MTV Movie Awards at 8:30pm on June 9 2005, to see Dakota accepting her award.

June 1, 2005:
Dakota will be the new voice of Lilo in sequel to a Walt Disney animated hit, Lilo and Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch which will debut on Disney DVD on August 30, 2005. I'm not 100% sure about this, but it seems to be true.

May 7, 2005:
Dakota Nominated for the MTV 2005 Movie Awards
Dakota is nominated to the MTV 2005 Movie Awards for her performance in "Hide and Seek" as Emily Callaway. She is nominated for Best Frightened Performance. You can vote for her, just click here. You can vote more than once! So go ahead and vote for Dakota! The MTV 2005 Movie Awards will air in June 9 at 8:30pm et/pt on MTV.

March 18, 2005:
Dakota Nominated for the 26th Annual Young Artist Awards
Dakota is nominated to the Twenty-Sixth Annual Young Artist Awards for her role as Pita Ramos in Man on Fire, in the best performance in a feature film - Leading Young Actress category. The awards ceremony will be Saturday, April 30, 2005.
