SMALL WONDER
from DailyNews , November 6, 2006
Dakota Fanning tells us she's ready to be back in the spotlight after taking some time off to be a kid.
"I had a little bit of a break, so I'm excited to get back," says 12-year-old Fanning, who is gearing up for the Christmas release of "Charlotte's Web," in which she plays the main human character, Fern. "I did that about a year ago, and it's coming out at the end of the year. I was definitely a big fan of the book and the animated movie. In this one, it's all real animals and real people, but the same story."
Though the animal voices are provided by some of Hollywood's biggest names & — Julia Roberts, Robert Redford, Jennifer Garner and Oprah Winfrey, to name a few & — Fanning admits she didn't get to work with any of them. "I've met them on other occasions, but not for 'Charlotte's Web' because they were doing the voices on their own, and I was in Australia filming." When asked what's next, the young star responds, "All the press is going to be starting with the movie, so I'll be busy with that." Well, so much for being a kid!
