DAKOTA > CHARACTERS QUOTES > CHARLOTTE'S WEB

Fern: What are you doing?

Fern: You're not going to kill it, are you?

Fern: No, it's not fair! It can't help being born small.

Fern: If I'd been born small, would you have killed me?

Fern: There's no difference! This is unfair and unjust.

Fern: How could you be so heartless?

Fern: Then I will.

Fern: I'll feed you and take care of you and... absolutely will not let you kill him.

Fern: You got to be quiet, okay? You're gonna get me in trouble.

Fern: Drink that.

Fern: Nothing.

Fern: Doesn't that feel good?

Fern: What?

Fern: Can't he stay in the barn? Please, Dad?

Fern: Please?

Fern: I promised I'd take care of him.

Fern: I didn't promise you. I promised Wilbur.

Fern: Uncle Homer?

Fern: "Go to sleep, my little one. The sun has said goodbye for now. The moon shines on your beautiful face."

Fern: My mom used to sing that to me to make me feel safe.

Fern: Good night, Wilbur.

Fern: It's okay. It's okay.

Fern: This isn't so bad.

Fern: Don't be afraid.

Fern: You'll be okay.

Fern: I'll come see you every day.

Fern: I'll be around so much you'll be sick of me.

Fern: I love you.

Fern: I'm gonna miss you today.

Fern: See you when I get back, okay?

Fern: All right, I gotta go, okay? See you later.

Fern: But he's expecting me!

Fern: But, Mom, I always tell him good night!

Fern: He can't sleep if I don't.

Fern: "After Mrs. Mallard had laid eight eggs in the nest, she couldn't go to visit Michael anymore, because she had to sit on the eggs to keep them warm. She moved off the nest only to get a drink of water, or to have her lunch, or to count the eggs and make sure they were all there. One day, the ducklings hatched out. First came Jack, then Kack..."

Fern: No, Avery! Come back here!

Fern: You can't do that!

Fern: Stop!

Fern: No, no, Avery!

Fern: Avery! No!

Fern: Can I walk home? I promised Wilbur I'd be there right away.

Fern: Alone? All my best friends are there. Except the rat.

Fern: I wouldn't call him my friend, but the rest of them are. They tell the greatest stories. They make me laugh. And I promised them I'd read 'em this book, so I got to go. Bye!

Fern: Avery! You'll never catch me!

Fern: Look at the fireworks, Mom!

Fern: Avery, come on if you ever want to catch me!

Fern: But, Dad, I heard them. I heard them talking about the smokehouse!

Fern: Well, I wouldn't have sold him in the first place if I knew this is what they were gonna do to him.

Fern: I'll see about that.

Fern: I'm not wearing that.

Fern: Wilbur! Wilbur!

Fern: It's okay, Wilbur.

Fern: Don't hurt him, Dad!

Fern: Bye, Aunt Edith!

Fern: Going to the fair! Going to the fair!

Fern: So fun!

Fern: I'll be right back. Okay.

Fern: You're going to win the prize tomorrow. I know it.

Fern: Everything will be all right.

Fern: One, please.

Fern: Must be in the other pocket. Sorry. One second.

Fern: Mom? Will you put these in for me?

Fern: And I still hit like one.

Fern: Hey, Wilbur!

Fern: It's not fair.

Fern: I love you, Wilbur.
