And another year comes to an end! This one marked Lovely Dakota‘s 15th anniversary and some major changes, as I’m sure you noticed if you’ve been visiting us for long. It’s review time!

The year of 2017 started for Lovely Dakota when I adopted it in March (x), after nearly two years without updates. The first thing I did was change the layouts and get the gallery up and running again, with the help of Isabella, from (the now gone) Dakota Fanning Brasil. Since then, 48 posts with news and various additions were made to the site.

Dakota’s first campaign for the brand Jimmy Choo – for their SS17 collection – was launched earlier in the year, and it resulted in one of her most beautiful photoshoots to date. In other fashion-related news, she posed for Miu Miu toward the end of the year, and is featured on their Holidays 2017 campaign called “Whispers” (x) along with her sister Elle Fanning.

Dakota’s latest short film “Zygote” was released in July (x), and “Brimstone” got some spread out release dates around the world through pretty much the first semester of the year. “Please Stand By” premiered at the Rome Film Festival (x), but doesn’t have confirmed release dates for other places at this point.

Dakota spent several months filming The Alienist in Budapest, Hungary, and we’ve gotten a few trailers (x) for it since then. This is the first television show she’s featured in since her cameo in “Friends” in 2004. It will be premiering on TNT on January 29, 2018, and is most definitely the project I’ve been anticipating the most. Dakota stars with actors Luke Evans and Daniel Bruhl.

With new projects soon-to-be released, Dakota has slowly started promoting. Several interviews and a few magazine covers have marked the beginning of it for “The Alienist”, and she’ll probably start doing press for “Please Stand By” too very soon. Besides those two projects, “Ocean’s 8” is also set to premiere in 2018 (x), and Dakota’s cameo has already been confirmed.

I hope we get to see more of Dakota next year, and I’m sure we will! We can also hope “Viena and the Fantomes” (x) gets released eventually, as we’ve been waiting for it for so long. The struggle is real, guys.

I hope you enjoyed our updates in 2017! Thanks for sticking by Lovely Dakota through all this years, and for not giving up on it when things slowed down for a while. It’s only been online for this long because of you, and, as someone who’s visited it for years before adopting it, I’m thankful it has.

May your new year be filled with love, happiness and new achievements! We’ll see you all in 2018!

In a new interview about “The Beguiled”, a film that also stars Dakota’s sister Elle Fanning, actress Kirsten Dunst briefly talked to Metro about her directorial debut with The Bell Jar, in which she is set to direct Dakota. There isn’t much information in the quote, but she did mention the script is currently being rewritten.

‘It was my favourite book growing up,’ says Dunst, who will direct her friend Dakota Fanning in the lead. The script is in a re-write phrase. ‘I’m very patient in the projects I pick,’ she says. ‘I don’t feel I have the world at my fingertips whatsoever.’

Hey guys! My friend Mouza has just launched a fansite dedicated to actor Luke Evans, who will be starring with Dakota in TNT’s series The Alienist, in which he’ll play crime illustrator John Schuyler Moore. He can be seen in many films, such as “Dracula Untold”, “Fast and Furious 6”, “The Hobbit” and more. As a fan of Luke’s myself, I’ll be giving her a hand every once in a while, and I hope you pay the site a visit! It is called LUKE EVANS ARCHIVES, and the URL is luke-evans.org.

Dakota’s latest short film, Zygote, is out now! It was produced by Oats Studios and directed by Neill Blomkamp, and it opens with two people trapped in a mining facility somewhere in the Arctic Circle. They’re fleeing a horrific creature made of body parts from other members of the station (x). Our gallery has been updated with screen captures from the film, as well as a couple of promotional stills and the poster shared by Dakota and the studio on Instagram.

Hello everyone! My name is Gabby and I have recently adopted Lovely Dakota. The site is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, and there are a lot of things that need to change in order for it to be at its best once again. I’ll be re-adding the old content, such as sidebar information, biography and career pages, affiliates and etc very soon. In the meantime, you can look through our ever-growing photo gallery, which is also being updated with missing pictures from the past two years.

Follow the site’s new twitter account for updates: @lovelydfanning

As you’ve probably noticed, we also have brand new layouts to celebrate this new phase. A huge thanks to Nicole, from nowhereland9.org, for her coding and Neide, from kaleidoscope3.org, for our beautiful header.
